Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder

This course covers the nature of alcohol use disorder (alcoholism), and medical issues that arise from long-term abuse. We will discuss treatment protocols, including medications, cognitive-behavioral therapies, herbal medicines, and acupuncture treatments. Students will also learn about various treatment models, such as Stages of Change, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
